Forest Green Rovers have accepted the resignation of director Colin Gardner due to ill health.

Gardner, 67, was diagnosed with a brain tumour last year.

Chairman Trevor Horsley told the club's website: "Everyone connected with the club will know that Colin is fighting his own battle.

"It was with great reluctance that my colleagues and I had to accept the news that after five years at the club Colin's health must take priority."
