When he took over, Warnock said Palace would be his last club

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has agreed a one-year contract extension to stay at Selhurst Park until 2011.

Warnock, 60, said he wanted to give people at the club a sense of security.

"It made sense to do this now so things don't blow up in everyone's face like the last few months at Charlton," he told the South London Press.

"It's amazing how supportive the fans have been. They understand the plight we're in and that I'm probably the best person to get them out of that."

Warnock became Palace manager in October 2007, taking over from Peter Taylor.

When he took the job, the former Sheffield United manager said it would be his final managerial role, but recently he was linked with vacancies at both QPR and Ipswich, before agreeing his new contract.
