![]() | Monday, 27 November, 2000, 15:00 GMT Stubbs back in hospital ![]() Alan Stubbs was taken back into hospital on Sunday Celtic defender Alan Stubbs has been readmitted to hospital after suffering a reaction to the chemotherapy treatment he is receiving for testicular cancer. The 29-year-old's agent, Paul Stretford, confirmed Stubbs had suffered the setback, but stressed that reports the player had collapsed or been at Ibrox for Celtic's 5-1 defeat by Rangers were inaccurate. Stubbs had a testicle removed last year but he returned to the team last season after making a full recovery. But traces of cancer were discovered in his abdomen earlier this month and he was forced to undergo chemotherapy treatment at the Beatson Oncology Unit at Glasgow's Western Infirmary. Supporters from both sides of the Old Firm waved banners wishing Stubbs a swift recovery at Sunday's match. | See also: Other top Celtic stories: Links to top Celtic stories are at the foot of the page. | ||
