Carlisle United have extended the loan spell of Sunderland midfielder Graham Kavanagh for a further month.
The 34-year-old ex-Republic of Ireland international will now be available for selection in Saturday's FA Cup first round tie against Grays Athletic.
The month's extension will end following the visit of Leicester City in League One on 13 December.
Kavanagh was brought to the club by former manager John Ward last month and has made six appearances, scoring once.
Dubliner Kavanagh began his career with Home Farm in Ireland before making the move to England with Middlesbrough in 1991.
A 250,000 move to Stoke City followed in 1996 where he spent six seasons before joining Cardiff City in 2001 for 1m.
He scored 15 times in his first season with the Bluebirds to help them to promotion.
Kavanagh signed for Wigan Athletic in March 2005 before moving on to Sunderland the following season in a 500,000 deal.
Injury problems restricted his appearances for the Black Cats and successful loan spells followed at Sheffield Wednesday last season.
