Burnley reject rumours manager Brian Laws will leave
Laws has targeted an instant return to the Premier League
Burnley have denied rumours manager Brian Laws is to lose his job, saying that he is planning for next season.
After Laws succeeded Owen Coyle in January the Clarets managed just three wins in 18 games and were relegated after one season in the Premier League.
But a statement read: "On Wednesday [Laws] met the chairman and operational director to plan next season's player recruitment and budget."
The former Sheffield Wednesday boss has two years left on his Clarets contract.
Despite their poor results under Laws, Burnley exited the Premier League on a high with a resounding 4-2 win over Tottenham on the final day of the season, Laws stressing afterwards that he had no plans to leave.
"Everybody seems to question whether I'm going to be here next season, but we are planning for the future and I want to be part of that," he told BBC Sport.
"It's a fantastic club with magnificent supporters who deserve to have another go at it in the Premier League."
