Nick Carle and John Oster grabbed their first goals for Crystal Palace to see off League One Hereford.

The Eagles fell behind on 40 minutes when Moses Ashikodi's header went in off the underside of the bar.

But they hit back almost straight away when Carle's left-footed shot flew past helpless Bulls keeper Darren Randolph.

Oster, who only joined Palace 24 hours earlier, then produced a bizarre debut winner when his cross fooled Randolph and dropped into the net.
