Glentoran captain Paul Leeman faces a spell on the sidelines |
Glentoran skipper Paul Leeman will be out for six to eight weeks after disclocating a shoulder in the Carnegie Premier League stalemate at the Oval. The Reds had the better chances in the game with Conor Downey hitting the woodword early in the second half.
Glentoran defender Mark Glendinning and Cliftonville striker Gary Kennedy were red-carded after an off-the-ball incident on 65 minutes.
Glens forward Stephen Parkhouse was also dismissed for two yellow cards.
Parkhouse's second yellow for a charge on Keith Mulvenna came just two minutes after the double dismissal.
Leeman was stretchered off on 20 minutes after falling awkwardly and his injury is a major setback for Roy Coyle's team, who are now two points adrift of leaders Linfield.
Indeed, Glentoran were lucky not to lose the game as Kennedy and Ronan Scannell squandered excellent first-half chances.
