Wales manager John Toshack praised Ryan Giggs after the skipper's two goals led them to victory over Azerbaijan. "If you look at the goals he scored, including the best move of the match, it's a perfect example for any youngster to follow," Toshack said.
"If he'd had a hat-trick it would have been something a bit special but he was feeling a back-ache so we took him off.
"With the 2-0 advantage we had it was maybe a chance to see if we could find out a bit more about some others."
Wales were good value for their win against a limited Azeri team, who did not offer much in attack but have proved tricky to get past during qualifying.
"It's a lot easier to destroy than to create and if you look at Azerbaijan's games they're difficult to beat," Toshack added.
"They only lost 1-0 to England; they were only beaten 2-0 in Northern Ireland; they've drawn with Austria.

"So you've got to go out there and do a job, but once the second goal went in I thought it was game, set and match.
"But we've still got a long, long way to go and we may have to go one step back to go two forward."
Giggs believes the back-to-back wins over Northern Ireland on Saturday and then Azerbaijan gives Wales something solid to build on.
"It's very satisfying to end the campaign with two wins," Giggs said.
"Obviously I'm really pleased scoring the goals, but the important thing was to score early.
"They can be hard to break down, but we could then keep the ball and be patient.
"We've got a year now to build for the European Championship qualifiers and hopefully we can keep on winning.
"I'm excited by these young lads coming into the team but we have to breed them into a winning team.
"We've done that this week so maybe we can carry on doing that."
