Coleman took over at Real Sociedad only last summer

Reports in the Spanish press have linked the former Wales international with a move away from the struggling second division outfit.

Badiola told the club's official website: "We have a project and we want Coleman to be a part of it."

Coleman met with Badiola on Monday to discuss his future at the club.

Coleman offered to step down following the resignation of president Maria de la Pena in November, but he was persuaded to stay by the Sociedad board.

De la Pena played an influential role in bringing the former Fulham boss to San Sebastian this summer.

Coleman is enduring a torrid time at the Basque club since taking over.

The club are already investigating his actions after he turned up 90 minutes late for a press conference.

Coleman said he had been late arriving to that day's media briefing due to flooding at his flat caused by his washing machine, but Spanish media also reported he had been at a nightclub until the early hours of the morning.

He later admitted he had been out late "somewhere I shouldn't have been" on Thursday, and that he had apologised to his players prior to the game.

Badiola said: "He understands it (the project) well and has asked for several days to consider the information we have given him."

"We are going to give him and Steve Kean time. I am getting to know them."
