Zidan returns for Egypt for the first time in eight months

Germany-based striker Mohamed Zidan has been called to the Egyptian national team for the first time in eight months.

The Borussia Dortmund forward has not been invited since June when he was accused of faking injury to miss the first phase of World Cup qualifiers.

The 27-year-old has been included in a 23-man squad for a friendly against Ghana in Cairo on Wednesday.

Mohamed Barakat returns for the first time in three years while Ismaili midfielder Ahmed Khairy keeps his place in the squad after making made his international debut in last month's friendly against Kenya.

The game against the Black Stars serves as a final warm-up before Egypt begin the last phase of the African qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
