Sri Lanka are happy after beating Zimbabwe

Sri Lanka eased to their first win in the tri-series tournament beating Zimbabwe by seven wickets.

Zimbabwe were bowled out for 104 and Sri Lanka needed less than 20 overs to secure victory in Rawalpindi.

Zimbabwe lost their last nine wickets for just 50 runs, with only Stuart Matsikenyeri showing any resistance, hitting 37 off 46 balls.

Spinner Upul Chandana took 3-15 off six overs and Sanath Jayasuriya knocked off the runs with a 30-ball 40.

Jayasuriya was one of two victims for Elton Chigumbura, who also dismissed opener Saman Jayantha.

Tinashe Panyangara took Chandana's wicket for seven but Sri Lanka strolled to victory in the 19th over.

Zimbabwe are all but out of the tournament after their third defeat in three games.

They will need to beat Sri Lanka in the next match on Monday to stand any chance of progressing to the final on 16 October, which hosts Pakistan have already qualified for.

Sri Lanka had made two changes to the side that lost to Pakistan on Wednesday.

Jayantha and Dilhara Fernando came into the XI for Avishka Gunawardene and Kaushal Lokuarachchi.

Zimbabwe brought in youngster Edward Rainsford in place of veteran seam bowler Douglas Hondo.
