England profiles: Steve Harmison
Darren Lehmann
By Darren Lehmann
Former Australia Test batsman

FACTFILE
Steve Harmison
Born: 23/10/78
Right hand batsman; right arm fast bowler
Test debut: 8/8/02 v India, Trent Bridge
ODI debut: 17/12/02 v Sri Lanka, Brisbane
Harmison is the leader of England's attack. He is the person they looked to throughout the 2005 Ashes, although he had less success later in the series.

His strength is his pace and the extra bounce he produces.

All good sides have a bowler who can pass 95mph on the speedo and put batsmen under pressure, whether or not he takes wickets.

His weakness is his tendency to lose control of his direction, which could allow Australia to score freely.
