Twenty20 Cup, Hove: Sussex 205-5 (20 overs) bt Hampshire 132-8 (20 overs) by 73 runsLuke Wright hammered 98 from just 48 balls to help Sussex beat Hampshire by 73 runs and book a home tie in the quarter-finals of the Twenty20 Cup.
Wright hit nine fours and six sixes in a stand of 107 in nine overs for the second wicket with Murray Goodwin (45).
Sussex's total of 205-5 never looked in danger once James Kirtley (4-22), Mushtaq Ahmed (2-24) and Saqlain Mushtaq (2-22) reduced Hants to 78-5.
The visitors ended on 132-8 and defeat left them bottom of the South group.
Wright, the competition's highest run-scorer with 298, helped the Sharks post their highest score in the competition, and his biggest blow came when he hoisted pace bowler David Griffiths over
mid-wicket.
He also put on 43 in three overs with Carl Hopkinson (26no) and looked poised to record his second century in the competition when he drove James Bruce to long-on in the 17th over.
Hampshire openers Michael Brown and Voges got their side off to a decent start by putting on 47 in six overs but once Voges was pinned in front by Kirtley the innings faded away.
Saqlain removed Brown and Chris Benham in successive balls to claim his first wickets for Sussex and Kirtley dismissed James Adams, Michael Carberry and Bruce in the space of four balls.
