Ireland boosted by Morgan century
Jermey Bray hit 78 before being trapped lbw
Ireland made an impressive start to their three-day Intercontinental Cup semi-final against the United Arab Emirates in Namibia on Sunday.

After winning the toss, the Irish declared at 350 for 7 in the 88th over, with Eoin Morgan hitting 151 off 150 balls, including a six and 14 fours.

Jeremy Bray and Dominic Joyce put on 111 for the first wicket before Joyce was caught for 38. Bray scored 78.

At the close of play, UAE were struggling at 77 for 4 in reply.

Paul Mooney took two wickets in two balls to leave the Emirates 18-2, Trent Johnston took the third wicket and Kyle McCallan claimed Ireland's fourth victim in the final over of the day.

The Irish started without injured pair Andre Botha and Andrew White.

Ireland's preparations for the semi-final had been hit by the late arrival of four Ulster-based players including Peter Gillespie and White.

Vice-captain Kyle McCallan, Peter Gillespie, Andrew White and Greg Thompson had to endure a 45-hour trip to Namibia after their initial flight from Belfast to London was delayed, causing them to miss the squad's onward flight to Namibia.

They were unable to get a hotel at Gatwick Airport and had to spend the night trying to sleep on the floor before travelling on to Frankfurt on Thursdya morning to get another flight to Africa.
