No rest for the victorious
England may not be touring until late October when they head to Pakistan but there will not be much rest for the triumphant Ashes squad.

All of the team are expected to gather at the Professional Cricketers' Association dinner at the Royal Albert Hall on 26 September and there will be lots of personal appearances as well but what else is going on?

Michael Vaughan

Michael Vaughan
After the emotional and physical rollercoaster of the successful Ashes summer, England's captain will enjoy a break from the game and will not play any county cricket for Yorkshire for the remainder of the season.

But along with Andrew Strauss, he will play in the Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews from 29 September.

And he could still win a late call-up to the Rest of the World squad for the six-day Test against Australia in October in Sydney.

The tournament contains a mix of golf professionals and celebrities.

Marcus Trescothick

Marcus Trescothick
England's opening batsmen will not play for Somerset again this season and will instead spend time with his wife Hayley and daughter Ellie, who was born in April.

He said: "It's a very special time for me and my family. I now have five weeks off from cricket, but I imagine I'll be kept pretty busy."

Andrew Strauss

Andrew Strauss
There will be no Middlesex action for Strauss, who was the only player to score two Test hundreds in the Ashes series.

The keen golfer will compete at the Dunhill Links Championship and rub shoulders with former Ashes heroes Ian Botham and Steve Waugh.

Ian Bell

Ian Bell
It is back to school for England's number four batsman after a less-than impressive Ashes in which he averaged just 17.

In order to rebuild his confidence and give him time at the crease, Bell will play for Warwickshire against Yorkshire and Durham in the Totesport League and against Gloucestershire in the final County Championship match of the season.

Kevin Pietersen

Kevin Pietersen
England's hero at The Oval has got a couple of weeks off and then he will be back taking on Australia again in the Super Series.

Pietersen will play in three one-day internationals for a World XI against Australia on 5, 7, 9 October in Melbourne.

Andrew Flintoff

Andrew Flintoff
There is hardly any rest for the man voted the Man of the Series in the Ashes and widely regarded to be the world's best all-rounder.

He will be off to Australia on 29 September to take on Ricky Ponting's men in three one-day internationals and a six-day Test in a World XI team in October.

Flintoff said he could do with a decent rest but has admitted he will be like a "kid in a sweet shop" playing alongside the world's best players.

Paul Collingwood

One day you are helping save the final Test at The Oval and win the Ashes for England, the next you are parading in an open-top bus and meeting the Prime Minister and the next it is back to business as usual.

Collingwood was back in action on Wednesday, captaining Durham as they attempted to win Division Two of the County Championship.

Collingwood is also expected to line up in the Seve Trophy, which is a pro-am golf tournament being staged at The Wynyard Club in Stockton on 21 September.

Geraint Jones

Geraint Jones
England's wicket-keeper is being rested for the remainder of the season.

But he is being kept busy by his county team Kent in the personal appearances stakes.

On Thursday Jones was set to visit Canterbury High School to talk to the pupils and go on an open-top bus tour of the city with the replica Ashes urn. He was then returning to the St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury to meet other schoolchildren.

Ashley Giles

Ashley Giles
After helping England get over the finish line in the Ashes, Giles will be spending time with his family, wife Stine and children Anders Fraser and Matilde.

He was going to Edgbaston on Thursday afternoon to cheer on his county Warwickshire as they took on Surrey Lions in the Totesport League floodlit match.

Giles said: "It will be great to come back to Edgbaston after the last couple of days and I will be glad to see some familiar faces. After all it was the win at Edgbaston that started this amazing journey."

Matthew Hoggard

Matthew Hoggard
Hoggard will be rested by Yorkshire for the remainder of the season and will spend time with his wife Sarah and dogs Mollie and Billy.

Steve Harmison

Steve Harmison
Harmison has been given his own seat (with plaque) at his beloved Newcastle United but he will not have much chance to benefit in the next few weeks.

He will take part in the Seve Trophy pro-am golf tournament at Stockton on 21 September and is then flying out to Sydney to compete for a World XI side against Australia in a six-day Test starting 14 October.

Simon Jones

Jones is still recovering from an ankle problem which kept him out of the final Test match.

But as well as recuperating, Jones will also make time for his blossoming modelling career.
