County Championship D1, Trent Bridge, day three: Nottinghamshire 290 v Leicestershire 376-4 The third day of the match between Divsion One's two basement clubs was lost to rain, denying Brad Hodge the opportunity of adding to his overnight 220 not out.
It will now be up to the two captains to try to manufacture a result on Friday, and both teams desperately require a win to have much hope of avoiding relegation.
This is Leicestershire's 14th match this season and they are still waiting to register a win, while Nottinghamshire prop up the rest of the table on 87 points, having played one fewer game.
Assuming both sides are relegated this season, they are likely to be joined by either Warwickshire or Essex, with Essex the least likely to stay in the top flight.
