Hodge hurts Notts
County Championship D1, Trent Bridge, day two : Nottinghamshire 290 v Leicestershire 376-4

In-form Brad Hodge launched a one-man attack on Notts to put Leicestershire in command on day two at Trent Bridge.

Aussie Hodge, who scored a century in the draw against Surrey last week, fired an incredible 220 not out off 208 balls, hitting 38 fours and three sixes.

He was the dominant partner in a 278-run stand for the third wicket with keeper Paul Nixon, who made a supportive 65.

The pair got the visitors out of trouble in style after they had slumped to 60-3 in the early stages.

Charlie Shreck (3-72) did the damage, but neither he nor his team-mates could do anything about Hodge.

Earlier, Phil DeFreitas grabbed his 61st five-wicket haul in first-class cricket as Notts added 33 runs to their overnight score of 257-6.
