Injunction against Hatton dropped
Ricky Hatton
Hatton is expected to fight Vivian Harris
World light welterweight champion Ricky Hatton is free to resume his career after an attempt to block his next fight was dropped.

French fighter Souleyman M'Baye had applied for an injunction to prevent Hatton fighting anyone but him.

But M'Baye withdrew the action on Wednesday, meaning Hatton can resume negotiations for his next fight.

There is a strong possibility the fight will be against Guyanan Vivian Harris, former holder of the WBA title.

Bu three or four other names are still being considered by WBA and IBF champion Hatton.

The fight will be on 13 May in Connecticut, USA.

M'Baye, who is promoted by Hatton's former promoter Frank Warren, is still suing the World Boxing Association for US$3m.

He claims he was entitled to fight Carlos Maussa for the WBA belt before Hatton did last November.
