Bath have handed fly-half Ciaran Donoghue a new deal to keep him at the Prem champions until 2028.

The 23-year-old academy product made his debut against Gloucester in November 2021 and has made 21 senior appearances to date.

Bath head of rugby Johann van Graan told the club website, external he believes Donoghue's best days in a blue, black and white shirt lie ahead of him.

He said: "It gives us all great pleasure to know that Ciaran will be with us for the next two seasons. What a 2024-25 season Ciaran has had. Most importantly, his best is yet to come."

Donoghue's contract renewal is an indication of the regard in which he is held, given that the fly-half has not featured during this campaign after being sidelined indefinitely following surgery on a knee injury sustained in pre-season.

Van Graan said last month he hoped Donoghue might be back before the end of the season, but not before April.
