Bristol Bears will pay tribute to former captain Matt Salter with a minute's applause during the Big Day Out match against Harlequins on Saturday.

Salter, who made more than 150 appearances across two spells with Bristol, passed away at the age of 49 earlier this month.

The mark of respect will take place during the sixth minute of the fixture at the Principality Stadium.

The flanker captained Bristol between 2004 and 2008 and was named in the Premiership Dream Team in 2006.

"Everyone connected with Bristol Bears continues to send their heartfelt condolences to Matt's family, friends and former teammates at this difficult time," a club statement said.

"He will always remain a cherished part of the Bristol Bears family."
