Clovers secured a home semi-final in the Celtic Challenge play-offs, although Edinburgh were able to secure a losing bonus point in the 43-26 loss at the Hive.

Over to the West, Glasgow suffered a heavy defeat to Brython Thunder, going down 32-10 at Scotstoun.

Edinburgh got off to the perfect start when they scored through Cat Moody, but they threw away the ball three times inside their own 22m to allow Clovers in.

Beibhinn Parsons, Beth Buttimer and Ruth Campbell were the beneficiaries, before full-back Bethan Mathieson got one back for Edinburgh on her full debut.

However, further tries from Eilis Cahill, Buttimer, Anna McGann and Aoibheann McGrath put the Clovers in a comfortable position.

Despite being so far behind, Edinburgh rallied through Scarlott Haddow and Adelle Ferrie tries to secure a bonus point with the final play of the game.

Over west in Glasgow, it was the Welsh visitors who started strongly. Lisa Neumann got the first for the Thunder, with winger Seren Singleton scoring the second.

Millie Warren did score a penalty to put the Warriors on the scoreboard before half-time, but moments into the second-half Hanna Marshall had added a third try for Brython.

They scored the bonus through Mabli Evans, with Seren Lockwood scoring the fifth with the game well and truly out of sight.

The hosts did get one back through Hannah Smyth but there was still time for Brython to get a sixth, with Ellie Tromans going over in the corner.

The results mean both Irish sides, Clovers and Wolfhounds, have home semi-finals while Edinburgh remain bottom of the table, with Glasgow one place above them.
