Plymouth Albion have signed Jake Murphy and Rupert Freestone to take their group of Cornwall County Championship-winning players up to five.

Murphy, 26, can play at centre or full back and has arrived at Brickfields from the Cornish All Blacks.

Loosehead prop Freestone has joined from Clifton but on a part-time basis to accomodate his studies in Bristol.

The pair will link up with Cornwall team-mates Billy Searle, Robin Wedlake and Matt Shepherd.

"I enjoyed working with Graham Dawe (Plymouth Albion head coach) when I played for Cornwall and I believe he will help me become a more rounded player," Murphy told the club website.

"It appears that Plymouth Albion are putting together an exciting squad but I know National One is a tough league to play in."
