Redruth are unbeaten in their last four matches in all competitions
Redruth centre Sam Parsons highlighted their impressive defensive record following the 17-7 win over Cambridge.
The Reds did not concede a try in their 15-15 draw with Launceston, beat Camborne 6-0 on Boxing Day and their line was only crossed by Cambridge in the final 10 minutes.
"The biggest thing for me is the defence, we're talking about it every week now," Parsons told BBC Cornwall.
"It's one try conceded in three games and at any standard, it's pretty good."
Parsons took over as on-field captain after Chris Fuca, who scored two tries in the opening 20 minutes, was forced off with an injury midway through the first half.
"It was a tough game, but I thought we controlled the game from minute one, our kicking game was outstanding and we played the conditions really well.
"It's the perfect start to 2015 for us, we would have liked to get the bonus point, but a win's a win," he said.
"We're looking at it as two mini leagues now, we've got four games then a gap and four more, then a gap again, so we'll see how we go."
