Joel Monaghan: Castleford Tigers sign former Warrington captain

Castleford Tigers have signed former Warrington Wolves captain Joel Monaghan on a two-year deal.

The 33-year-old scored 141 tries in 143 appearances for the Wire, but was released from his contract a year early at the end of last season.

He told BBC Radio Leeds: "I know a few of the players and you can tell they're a really well coached team.

"They've been very consistent over the last two seasons and they're a quality team across the park."

He added: "I'll bring a bit of experience having been around a while now. I've had a bit of a leadership role at Warrington over the last few years so hopefully I can bring that here.

"The style of rugby they play here is perfect for me."
