Seeley says milestone 30th win 'within his grasp'
"I've never thought of retirement" - Seeley

North West 200 record wins holder Alastair Seeley says his aim is to reach a landmark 30 victories at the event this year.
Seeley has accumulated 29 wins over the Triangle circuit, the most recent of which came in achieving a double in the Superstock category in 2023.
The 46-year-old will compete on a Ducati V2 in the Supersport class and an Aprilia in the Supertwins category for Binch Racing at this year's meeting, which will take place from 4-9 May.
"Nice to get back for another year. It was pretty much a late deal to be honest," the Carrickfergus rider told The BBC Bikes Podcast.
"We have 29 wins racked up and we're aiming for 30, so fingers crossed.
"It's that 30th win that keeps me going, it's one that if we make it we have reached a milestone figure. It would be nice to cap it off or round it up, so I'll come with the same mindset I do every year and try and do the best we can.
"It's within my grasp, I just have to try and make it happen. If it happens, it happens, and if not we can always come back next year."
Seeley is a former British Supersport champion, winning that championship in 2011, and 13 of his North West wins have come in that class, compared with 12 in the Superstocks and four in the Superbike category.
He previously rode for the Binch Racing team on a Yamaha R6 in the British Supersport series in 2024, a year in which he did not compete at the NW200 because of a lack of suitable competitive machinery.
"It's nice to be back on Supersport machinery. It's probably my preferred class," explained Seeley.
"I've had a lot of wins in that class so it would be nice to come back and do that again."
The former double Ulster Superbike and Supersport champion has not raced competitively since racing at the North West in 2025 so is keen to get some track time under his belt before returning in search of wins come May.
"I need to be getting back into the swing of things and getting seat time, do track days.
"You are going out against guys who are doing BSB, are doing pre-season testing, so it's important for me to get up to speed and get some testing done.
"Obviously there are also official BSB tests in April, so hopefully we will be part of that as well. Hopefully the bike will be good and it's just a matter of me gelling with the bike."
Seeley secured a best finish of third in a Superbike race on board a Superstock bike last year and also took a couple of fourth places.
"If you're still getting podiums what's to say you can't turn that into wins," added the County Antrim man.
