  1. “We can do the sweep” - Lions coach Razaqpublished at 18:56 GMT 9 March 2019

London Lions coach Vince Razaq believes his team is good enough to win all four BBL titles this season – Cup, Trophy, Championship and Play-offs and says that was their aim at the start of the season.

“We felt we could win all four trophies. From January to May last year we were probably the best team in the league, but we didn’t have what it takes to beat a very good Leicester team in the [Play-offs] final.

“We went out and addressed those things - But we did say ‘let’s go out and try and win all four because this is a talented group and we don’t know how long we’re going to stay together’.”

Razaq believes the Lions have to be wary of their crosstown rivals.

“You always need talent to win and when you look at the Royals you see talent in every corner – led by Matthew Bryan-Amaning. He’s so versatile,” he said.

“But there are also a number of silent assassins in amongst them and I would pull out Will Neighbour and Ed Lucas – they just go about their business in a professional manner. There’s also a lot of athleticism on the team but those two are the ones we really have to keep quiet.”

  2. Royals coach Jay Williams looks at the Lions’ danger menpublished at 18:37 GMT 9 March 2019

“It’s good for London basketball and the people that have been involved in London basketball for a long time,” he told BBC Sport. “We just want to inspire more coaches and young players to get involved.”

He knows the Royals start as underdogs against the team that won the Cup final six weeks ago and are top of the league.

“You’ve got Justin Robinson, the MVP of last season, and you have Jordan Spencer, who’s playing some of his best basketball - and I’ve been seeing him play for a long time,” said Williams.

“And then you’ve got Ladarius Tabb, who connects with both of those guys. So it’s not a question of covering just one player.

“Also you’ve got Kervin Bristol, who plays well on the inside and Flo [Dzaflo Larkai, former GB international] coming off the bench and there’s Brandon Peel as well – so they’ve got a unit that’s been playing together for a while.”

  3. ‘Tough, but not heated’ game - Lions coach Vince Razaqpublished at 08:45 GMT 9 March 2019

The BBL’s first all-London final in 22 years will be ‘tough, but not heated’, says London Lions coach Vince Razaq.

Razaq’s Lions take on BBL newcomers London City Royals in the Trophy final at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena on Sunday.

“It’s still a very tough rivalry because everyone knows everyone else,” said Razaq, whose opposite number Jay Williams was named Coach of the Month for February.

The Lions, who beat Glasgow in the BBL Cup final six weeks, are top of the league and could yet win all four titles this season.

  4. Preview: BBL Trophy Final - London Lions face London City Royalspublished at 17:24 GMT 7 March 2019

    Tip-off: 15:30 GMT

London Lions face London City Royals in only the second all-London final in British Basketball League history, coming almost 22 years after the London Towers faced London Leopards in the 1997 Play-offs final.

The Lions are already silverware winners this season having won the BBL Cup against Glasgow Rocks in January, their first title in eleven years and they are currently on an eight-game unbeaten run which sees them leading the Championship table.

London City Royals have shown impressive pedigree in their debut season in the BBL, reaching the semi-finals of the Cup competition and looking a sure bet to reach the end-of-season play-offs, having won four of their last five league games.
