    Newcastle United aim to secure the first silverware of a potential historic double this season. With a current 12-point lead at the top of the FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division, they are just one win away from becoming National League Cup winners too.

    The Magpies sealed their place in the final after a 2-1 win over Portsmouth Women at St. James' Park, with Charlotte Potts and Georgia Gibson’s goals securing the victory.

    Their opponents, Hashtag United (formerly AFC Basildon), and have some cup pedigree, having sealed the Essex Senior Cup in their second season after their merger with Forest Glade under the Hashtag name, and have previously reached the fourth round of the Women’s FA Cup. They beat Halifax 2-0 in their semi-final to clinch their spot at Kenilworth Road.

    Beyond the affiliated clubs there'll be teams and leagues local to you, who welcome all kinds of characters to play and enjoy a game of football. Yes, there's a competitive element to it, but the common theme will be having fun,

    There’s different types of football to get involved with:

    Five-a-side football is played on a smaller pitch, with more touches of the ball - and there are facilities all over the country.

    Futsal is similar to five-a-side, but played indoor with a smaller, heavier ball. It places greater emphasis on individual skill and ball control.
