Cardiff Devils shutout the Coventry Blaze to complete a festive four-point weekend in the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL).

After a thrilling 5-4 win at the Vindico Arena on Friday, the Devils made light work of Blaze in the reverse fixture at the Coventry Skydome on Saturday.

Joey Martin put the Devils ahead on the power play after five minutes, with Kohen Olischefski doubling Cardiff's lead despite the visitors being shorthanded.

Riley Brandt scored the only goal of the middle period to put the Devils 3-0 ahead.

And the rout was complete when Cole Sanford and Brett Ferguson piled more misery on Coventry, as Devils finished 5-0 winners.

The win puts Cardiff top of the EIHL, one point ahead of Nottingham Panthers who came from behind to beat third-placed Sheffield Steelers - though Devils have played one game more than both their nearest rivals.
