Cardiff Devils' slim Elite League title hopes suffered a blow as they were beaten 5-3 by Glasgow Clan at the Braehead Arena.
Joey Martin scored twice for the Devils – including the first goal of the night – with Steven MacLean also on target for the Welsh side.
But despite falling behind, Clan took control of the contest thanks to goals from Brady Risk, Chris McKay, Felix Pare and Tristin Langan before Mick Messner sealed the hosts' win in the third period.
Defeat was a fourth in six matches for the Devils, who are back in action with a home game against Nottingham Panthers on Sunday.
