Cardiff Devils thrashed Guildford Flames 7-1 for the second time this season thanks to a Cole Sandford hat-trick.

The 30-year-old opened the scoring in the 11th minute and doubled Devils' lead four minutes later as the hosts went 2-0 up.

Kontos and Fournier made it 4-0 as Devils turned on the style in front of 3,110 fans at the Vindico Arena.

Brett Ferguson scored Cardiff's fifth in the 37th minute against his former team where he played the last seven seasons and captained the last four.

Jake Coughler got one back for Guildford but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation for the visitors.

Sandford and Josh MacDonald finished the match with two late goals to pile on the misery for the Flames who have conceded 13 in their last two games.
