Guernsey have already beaten Crawley in this season's EH National Trophy

Guernsey are through to the third round of the EH National Trophy after beating Marlow 3-1 at Footes Lane.

Adam Cox opened the scoring for Guernsey before Andy Whalley struck twice for the five-time finalists.

The game ended at a frenetic pace as the visitors withdrew their goalkeeper for an extra outfield player.

"I'm absolutely thrilled, the guys busted a gut today, the same as they did in the last round," captain Adie Peacegood told BBC Radio Guernsey.

It was a second successive victory this season for the islanders after beating Crawley 5-0 in the opening round, as they aim for a fifth successive final.

"Marlow have got a very good side who are very fast, young and fit and it was a physical game," Peacegood added.

"The one thing I ask of any player is workrate. If you put a shift in, that's all you can ask and we'll see what the result is at the end of the day.

"It was another brilliant result and a lot of hard work again."
