Three-time Olympic gold medallist Max Whitlock will feature at the British Artistic Gymnastics Championships this weekend, and you can follow it live on the BBC.

The 33-year-old, who is Great Britain's most successful gymnast, announced he was coming out of retirement in November to target a place at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.

He had retired after finishing fourth in the pommel horse final at the Paris Olympics in 2024, but said his career felt "unfinished" after missing out on the podium.

He completed the joint-best pommel horse routine at the English Championships last month - his first competition since Paris.

Olympic floor bronze medallist Jake Jarman, who says he is targeting two gold medals at the World Championships later this year, will be part of strong line-ups in the men's competitions.

Jarman is the reigning world champion in the floor exercise after taking the title in Jakarta last year.

Harry Hepworth won Team GB's only other medal at the Paris Olympics with a bronze in the vault and will be a contender in the all-around final, but will have to unseat reigning champion Jamie Lewis.

In the women's all-around competition, Alia Leat is the defending champion but is likely to face stiff competition from Abi Martin, who won the English Championships last month, and Ruby Evans, who won a World Championship silver medal in the floor in 2025.

Another athlete returning to major competition is Alice Kinsella, who will become the first British artistic gymnast to resume elite competition after giving birth.

The 25-year-old, a bronze-medal winner in the team event at Tokyo 2020, took just four weeks off from training after she delivered her son Parker last summer.

Her journey back to the sport is so rare it has become the subject of a university research paper into elite gymnasts resuming their careers after giving birth.

The British Championships in Liverpool will be her first competition since the Paris Games.
