Liverpool manager Arne Slot on conceding a disappointing late equaliser against Tottenham on Sunday: "What I liked after we conceded the 1-1 was immediately the committment they [the players] have. They sprinted back in a counter-attack moment with seven or eight players to make sure we didn't concede again to make it 2-1 and a moment later they sprinted forward with five, six or seven to help.

"So that tells you they are willing to fight, which they have done this whole season and as long as I've been here. There haven't been many games where we haven't been outworked or where we haven't created more chances than the other team have created.

"So our players will show that mentality again that they showed after the 1-1 and I am 100% sure that our fans will be like they always are on other European nights like tomorrow."

Slot is asked about comments by former Liverpool player turned pundit Jamie Carragher criticising the team's work rate against Tottenham.

"I agree with Jamie on many things he has said this season," says Slot. "I disagree with him about this."

The media conference has just finished, however we will continue to bring you more of what Slot has had to say over the next while.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot on facing Galatasaray with a one-goal deficit to make up: "It's difficult because we have played twice against them and lost twice against them. The good thing for us is that it is the first game we play at home [against them] and we have the support of our fans, which will be supportive again tomorrow night because that is what they have always been and will always be for this club."

Liverpool manager Arne Slot on Alexander Isak, who trained alone on the grass today: "Alex is not available for tomorrow but the fact you see him on the pitch tells you that he gets closer and closer to joining us again.

"Not really [any timeframe on his return] but he will not be available for Saturday as well. When you don't train with the team yet you are not ready to play and as well all know if you have done for months on the individual session it is also a step up to train with the team and when you train with the team again it is quite a step up to playing in the Premier League or Champions League."

Liverpool manager Arne Slot on Joe Gomez missing training, after playing with an issue on Sunday because fellow central defender Ibrahima Konate was not available: "Joe we will decide tomorrow. He wasn't available for training today. He had too much issues after our last game, although he had these issues already after the Galatasaray game. It wasn't planned for him to play against Tottenham but unfortunately Ibo [Konate] got discomfort in his hamstring so we couldn't take the risk of playing him. that's why Joe had to play and it has built up so much so now he is a bit of a doubt for tomorrow. He's going to try tomorrow to see if he is available."

  9. Slot has 'stayed calm and tried to find the answers'published at 16:00 GMT

Liverpool v Galatasaray (Wed, 20:00 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson on manager Arne Slot facing more scrutiny this season: "He's stayed calm and tried to find the answers. We've all tried to help him and we are all pushing in the same direction. Obviously the pressure is a big bigger on all of us at the moment because the results have not been there. You have to perform and get the results and when you don't the scrutiny is bigger. He has obviously faced a lot more scrutiny than last year and so have us as players. It's up to us to stand up to that. We are all good enough to be at Liverpool and it's up to us to show that. If we do, I am sure we can turn the tide back towards the way we want it to go."

  10. 'We believe this squad is good enough to be in the last eight'published at 15:55 GMT

Liverpool v Galatasaray (Wed, 20:00 GMT)

    Liverpool

More from Liverpool defender Andy Robertson: "We believe that this squad is good enough to be in the last eight of the Champions League but we have to go and show it. I don't think we showed it enough last week [in Galatasaray], I thought at times we struggled all over the pitch, so the performance level has to go up, and we know that."

  11. 'This club has to be in the Champions League year in and year out'published at 15:51 GMT

Liverpool v Galatasaray (Wed, 20:00 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson on delivering trophies and qualification for next season's Champions League: "That has to be the aim [to qualify for next season] definitely. With trophies, when we were in amazing moments in 18-19 or 19-20, we never looked too far ahead, so we can't now. Of course we have dreams of winning the trophies but we have to focus on the next game ahead.

"Tomorrow night is a massive game for us, we have to do everything we can to try to win that game and if we are in the quarter-finals we will focus on the quarter-finals.

"In terms of Champions League qualification, this club demands it. This club has to be in the Champions League year in and year out. Since I have been here there has only been one year we have failed and that was a difficult year. Hopefully that's not going to be the case this season."

  12. 'Fans will be right behind us - but we have to give them something to get behind'published at 15:48 GMT

Liverpool v Galatasaray (Wed, 20:00 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson on boos at Anfield on Sunday and fans getting restless: "I don't think we have concerns about that. The thing that was most disappointing was that our fans left unhappy.

"Our aim is always to be sending our fans home happy. That gives you the biggest satisfaction, that they were happy with what they have seen on the pitch.

"Sunday they weren't happy and neither were we, but in terms of tomorrow night it doesn't worry me at all because at Anfield, under the lights, with our fans in that stadium - they have been here before and they will be here many, many times in the future as well.

"They always produce special night at Anfield and I don't think tomorrow night will be any different, but we have to give them something to shout about.

"They will be right behind us, but we have to give them something to get behind."

  13. Liverpool favourites to progress - Optapublished at 15:45 GMT

Liverpool v Galatasaray (Wed, 20:00 GMT)

    Liverpool

Opta give Liverpool a 58.8% chance to overcome a one-goal deficit at home to Galatasaray and make it into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Of course, the club has a proud history of overcoming adversity - and bigger deficits than this - on big European nights at Anfield.

Two of Liverpool's most accomplished comebacks are gaining plenty of votes in the poll at the top of this page.

Can Arne Slot and his side summon up the battling qualities that helped the club come from 3-0 down to win the 2005 Champions League final, or come from three goals down to make it past Barcelona in the 2019 semi-finals?

  14. 'Hopefully we find the answers sooner rather than later'published at 15:40 GMT

Liverpool v Galatasaray (Wed, 20:00 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson on the mindset in the group: "It's a frustration. We are all frustrated by the fact that we can't find that consistency because last season that's probably what set us apart from everyone else in the league. That's why we ended up winning the league pretty comfortably. It's hard to be able to put your finger on why we have not been able to get that consistency this season.

"It's been a huge frustration for all of us, we've all been trying to put our finger on it and trying to demand it, working towards it, but for whatever reason we've not quite found it yet.

"We can't give up trying. We need to try to fight through it and find that consistency because that is the only way we can try and turn this season around.

"Time is running out, games are running out but we have got a chance tomorrow night to get to the quarter-finals of the Champions League which would be good for us. We are still in the FA Cup and we have to sort out our league form, that's obvious.

"We won't give up trying to find the answers to that and hopefully we find them sooner rather than later."

Andy Robertson says they want to produce moments to get fans on their feet, amid Liverpool's poor run of recent form.

He says Liverpool is a club which "demands" Champions League football, as they battle with Chelsea, Manchester United and Aston Villa for a top five place in the Premier League.

  16. 'There will be time to talk about my future'published at 15:35 GMT

Liverpool v Galatasaray (Wed, 20:00 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson started by being asked about his future at the club: "I don't think today is the day to discuss my future 24 hours before a massive Champions League game. Full focus will have to be on that. There will be time to talk about my future but today is not the day."

  19. Slot faces tough task to repeat trophy successpublished at 15:30 GMT

Liverpool v Galatasaray (Wed, 20:00 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool have won just one of their last four games in all competitions and there were boos at Anfield after the final whistle on Sunday, when they let a one-goal lead slip in their draw against relegation threatened Tottenham.

There is mounting pressure on manager Arne Slot to deliver success this season, after he won the Premier League title in his first campaign as Liverpool manager.

The Reds are into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, where they will face a tough trip to Manchester City, and face a potential rematch against defending European champions Paris St-Germain in the last eight of the Champions League, if they can make it past Galatasaray.

PSG beat Liverpool en route to the final of the Champions League last season.

So Slot knows there will be no easy route to further silverware for his Liverpool side, who are fifth in the Premier League, out of the title race and battling to earn qualification for top-tier European competition next season.

  20. Liverpool's most important game of the seasonpublished at 15:25 GMT

Liverpool v Galatasaray (Wed, 20:00 GMT)

    Aadam Patel
    Football Reporter

It's not an understatement to say this is Liverpool's most important game of the season so far.

Arne Slot's side come into it off the back of a disappointing result on Sunday against Tottenham, where they were met with boos from sections of the home support.

But this is Anfield and when it comes to European nights at home, not many do it better at Liverpool.

Dominik Szoboszlai has already called on the fans to "stick with us" this week and there is little doubt that the Anfield crowd will need to be behind them tomorrow, against a Galatasaray side that has already kept Liverpool out for 180 minutes this season.
