Tottenham v Crystal Palace (Thu, 20:00 GMT)

    Crystal Palace

A final word from Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner on the future of Evann Guessand:

"It's the club's decision. I was talking to him in the summer and we were highly interested in him but he picked Aston Villa.

"Now he's here, he's had a good start. He is always able to create something but on the other hand he still has to learn our structure.

"He didn't play so many minutes at Villa, that's why I rested him at Old Trafford because he had 90 minutes for many weeks against Mostar.

"He's a good player, one that can score and assist, and giving something special - doing things that no one expects."

And on whether there is a goal contributions clause in his contract which would trigger Palace's obligation to buy:

"I never talk about details in player contracts so I can't talk about it so no comment."

    Crystal Palace

More from Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner on Jean-Philippe Mateta's progress in recent weeks: "He's chipper. Always funny, always joking with his mates. Working hard, working very very hard in rehab. Always in the gym and on the bike and on the treadmill.

"I think he's also looking forward to feeling the ball and smelling the grass, and having fun with his teammates on the pitch.

"He now has only four or five days to wait and then he will be hopefully back."

    Those are coming right up...

By the time its the international break, Spurs will be safe. West Ham just aren't good enough to get out of this. They will need to take a point a game off Spurs by April. Tudor is To Do!

  6. Tottenham players starting to talk about relegationpublished at 15:05 GMT

Tottenham v Crystal Palace (Thurs, 20:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

A final word from Tottenham interim boss Igor Tudor, who was asked if his players are speaking about relegation behind the scenes: "A little bit. They have started to speak about it a little bit now."

  7. 'Doctors decide about life and death - that's real pressure'published at 15:01 GMT

Tottenham v Crystal Palace (Thurs, 20:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham interim boss Igor Tudor's final words on the current situation the club finds itself in: "Everyone understands the situation. There is something wrong if you don't understand. My job is to put the pressure away, but the players job is to accept the pressure is there.

"There is real pressure out there. People need to make money for their families and are working in jobs like doctors, who are doing operations and deciding about life and death - that's real pressure.

"We just have to be ready to accept this and stand up. We have to be ready to say 'we can do this' so that we don't fall behind. We have to take responsibility and have the courage to confront this.

"This is the best way to do it, and the only way to do it [in my opinion]."

  8. Get Involved - 'Poorest version of a Tottenham team I can remember'published at 14:58 GMT

Click 'Get Involved' to have your say

This Spurs squad is underachieving less than people say, even on paper they're miles off a team who could qualify for Europe through Premier League placement. They'll stay up but have no talismanic or 'x factor' players. I'd honestly say par for this squad is 10th or 12th.

    Ryan, Sheffield

This is the poorest version of a Tottenham team I can remember. There is such a lack of belief and confidence that has been present throughout the season and they are in a perilous position. No attacking threat and the ability to concede two goals a game.

  9. 'There is no must-win game'published at 14:53 GMT

Tottenham v Crystal Palace (Thurs, 20:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham interim boss Igor Tudor on whether there is pressure on him and his players to win this next game: "No, there is no must-win game. We need to be approaching all of the games in the right way and doing the best that we can do. I've always said that thinking like that doesn't bring you anything.

"We need to prepare thinking about us, it's about understanding who we are as a team, what the players need and what the players can give, in order to be better as a team. If we prepare in this way, it [the outcome] will be good."

When quizzed on it being a must-win game again, he added: "These are all the things that don't matter. They are nice things to speak about on the TV or in a bar, but we aren't interested in thinking in this way."

  10. Players have shown 'good willingness to change'published at 14:49 GMT

Tottenham v Crystal Palace (Thurs, 20:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham interim boss Igor Tudor on how he is getting his players mentally ready for the challenge: "We need to have belief that we have enough quality to do it [stay up in the Premier League].

"My point is to give both things to the players, this is how my job works in this sport. I'm trying to touch the players in all kinds of ways.

"I've seen a good willingness to change. We need something to change, of course, and I have seen small progress.

"Tomorrow we need to keep going in the direction I believe we need to take and put out a good performance as a team."

  11. Tudor seeing 'positive' signs 'day-by-day'published at 14:46 GMT

Tottenham v Crystal Palace (Thurs, 20:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham interim boss Igor Tudor revealed that he doesn't feel the need to completely change personnel or tactics against Crystal Palace: "We need to choose the right players, of course. As I've said before, there are a lot of things to improve. Day-by-day I'm seeing that the players want this and that makes me feel positive enough to believe that we will do it. That's the key.

"We are still waiting for other players to come back [from injury] and give something to the team, like Pedro [Porro] came out in the last game and immediately we saw that he gives something to his teammates.

"So it's important to have all the pieces together because every team in the Premier League would struggle without 7, 8 or 10 players. Until then, we will continue to work on doing things better."

  12. Get Involved - 'Tudor's negativity will impact Spurs' fate'published at 14:42 GMT

Click 'Get Involved' to have your say

I think its amazing the difference between how Tudor has approached the Spurs problems compared to how Rosenior has tackled the issues at Chelsea - he has been very positive, yet Tudor is being very negative. That will affect the players and I fear for Spurs as to the outcome.

  13. 'I won't be the guy who says everything is perfect and smiles'published at 14:38 GMT

Tottenham v Crystal Palace (Thurs, 20:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham interim boss Igor Tudor admitted his disappointment after the defeat to Fulham last time out: "I feel better now. Of course, there was emotions and some disappointment after the game because we are working hard with the players on what they need to do, but the result didn't come.

"Of course it was a little bit disappointing, but that's how we should feel [after a game like that]. We need to be angry and disappointed. I won't be the guy who says everything is perfect, smiles and acts like nothing has happened.

"Also it's about me, personally, sending a message to everyone that I do not accept the situation - but we move on. We had a good but short period to prepare for this next game and I have seen the guys react really well.

"We need to be optimistic about tomorrow's game. We play at home against a good team, but we're in our stadium and in front of our fans."

  14. Get Involved - 'Players need to stand up or relegation is coming'published at 14:35 GMT

Click 'Get Involved' to have your say

If the six teams of Wolves, Burnley, West Ham, Forest, Tottenham and Leeds were all on the same points, I would suspect that Tottenham would finish bottom of that mini league table from now to the end of the season. The four point gap they have on is massively overstated.

    Daniel, London

This Tottenham team lacks fight and game-changing players. Looking back to the bad days of the 1990s–2000s, players like Anderton, Ginola, Keane, or Defoe would inspire, this current team has no spark. Every player needs to stand up and be counted or relegation is coming for us.

  15. Spence will not feature against Crystal Palacepublished at 14:33 GMT

Tottenham v Crystal Palace (Thurs, 20:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham interim boss Igor Tudor started off by providing a team news update: "Djed [Spence] is out. He is not ready for the game tomorrow.

"I would hope he will be back for the Champions League game [against Atletico Madrid]."

On whether there are any updates on absentees Destiny Udogie and Dejan Kulusevski: "No, not yet.

"Kevin [Danso] returned in the last game so it has been great to have him back, but there is no other news."

  16. Tudor positive players are 'ready to step up'published at 14:29 GMT

Tottenham v Crystal Palace (Thurs, 20:00 GMT)

    Sami Mokbel
    BBC Sport Senior football correspondent

Igor Tudor has come out fighting here at the Tottenham’s training ground.

The Tottenham manager has been speaking here ahead of Thursday’s clash versus Crystal Palace.

Tudor is adamant his team are too good to go down and what he has seen from his squad has underlined that belief.

He also provided a punchy answer to a question from BBC Sport about trying to alleviate the pressure on his players in the midst of a relegation fight.

“This is just sport, other jobs - where it is a matter of life or death - is where the real pressure is," he said.

“But our players are ready to step up.”

We're still awaiting more quotes from Oliver Glasner and we'll bring you those should we get them in time.

For now though, we'll switch gears back to Spurs boss Igor Tudor, who has now taken his pre-match news conference.

The Croat has "come out fighting," says BBC Sport's Sami Mokbel...

  18. Mateta to return for Larnaca tiepublished at 14:20 GMT

Tottenham v Crystal Palace (Thu, 20:00 GMT)

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner revealed that Jean-Philippe Mateta aims to return after the Spurs game as he gave an update on his knee issue: “We’re planning for him to be partly integrated next Monday in the team training for the Larnaca game. It will be the same, starting from the bench.

“He was out for a long time, but his knee looks better now. That’s why we have decided to reintegrate him. We have to be careful, but the goal is that he is available for the Larnaca and Leeds games."

    Glasner added:

“Eddie Nketiah won’t be available before April. So we’re pushing hard to have him back in the team.”

  19. 'A big miss'published at 14:15 GMT

Tottenham v Crystal Palace (Thu, 20:00 GMT)

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner on losing Maxence Lacroix to a red card suspension:

    “He’s a big miss.

"But we showed against Wolves we could win, with a clean sheet. We need other ones to step up and that’s how we’ve prepared.

“The referee decided that way and we have to accept it.

“That game is over. We took many positives from this game. But we have seen what we have to improve. Every game, every experience, is helpful."

There are no fresh injuries at Palace, and Jefferson Lerma is set to return for the first time since the Eagles lost to Burnley in February.

The midfielder isn't ready to start but he will travel with the squad and is fit to get some minutes if needed.

Speaking in his news conference before the Tottenham game, Palace boss Oliver Glasner said: “Jefferson Lerma is back in the squad but not ready to start.

"He trained with us and is ok. It’s quite early, but if we need him for 15-20 minutes at the end we have him.

“That means it is either Chadi [Riad] or Nathaniel Clyne will play [in defence]. They are the options we have and one of them will start.”
