'Whatever happens I'm happy' - Walsall's Byfield

Walsall interim boss Darren Byfield played 152 times for the Saddlers across two spells

Walsall interim boss Darren Byfield says he will continue to lead the Saddlers "until I'm told not to".
Byfield oversaw a fine 3-0 victory at fellow League Two play-off chasers Crewe on Saturday in his first match in charge after last week's sacking of Mat Sadler.
The win left Walsall - top at Christmas - three points outside the play-off places in 10th with nine games left, starting with the visit of third-placed Cambridge on Tuesday (19:45 GMT).
But despite the impressive start - which included a first clean sheet in 10 matches - Byfield is not getting carried away by thoughts of promotion from first team coach to permanent head coach.
"I will prepare for Tuesday until I'm told not to," he told BBC Radio WM.
"Anyone that knows me knows I'm just a guy that loves football. I love working with players and I love Walsall Football Club, so whatever happens I can be happy with how they performed today.
"And whoever the next person is - me, anyone else - I'll be watching along, I'm a fan, let's keep going."

Byfield's next challenge will be to end a dismal home run against a Cambridge team that have won 10 and lost just one of their past 14 league matches.
Walsall have failed to win at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium since a 1-0 win over Crewe on Boxing Day - a run of seven matches which has brought just three goals, two points and the ire of Saddlers supporters.
"It starts with us," said Byfield. "When our fans see we are running and working hard and creating chances, they're with us.
"So we can moan, but these guys are with us, it's as simple as, and we've got to give them something to sing and shout about.
"That's the plan on Tuesday. Let's be aligned - we have to get the fans back with us and they know we have to perform for that to happen.
"I don't think there's any complications about it."
The former Walsall forward, 49, has said consistency will also be needed if the Saddlers are to maintain a play-off push among a congested pack.
"It's always 'on' because I know how good this team is and I know how good a squad we have," Byfield added.
"I haven't looked at the league table since I've gone in there, but just keep winning games, be consistent, that's the challenge. That's when you become a good team."
