Ipswich Town have signed Everton centre-back Kenzie Weir as they continue their battle for points at the foot of Women's Super League 2.

Weir has joined on loan for the rest of the season, the fourth signing by Town this month and second from a top-flight club following Tottenham's Kit Graham.

Ipswich have won only one of their 12 games so far this season but have managed two draws in their last three, including last weekend against Bristol City.

"To attract a player with her level of experience and background in elite environments is huge for us," said technical director Sean Burt.

"She brings composure, quality and a real understanding of what it takes to compete at a high level, which will be invaluable for us in the second half of the season."

Ipswich, who are four points from safety at the foot of the table, are away to Newcastle United on Sunday (14:00 GMT).
