Watford Women have switched their remaining home league fixtures this season to Uxbridge FC's Honeycroft Ground.

Renee Hector's side are chasing promotion to Women's Super League 2 and believe the pitch will suit their game better and lessen the risk of bad weather causing postponements.

The Orbital Fasteners stadium at Kings Langley was their nominated home ground but they have already played two fixtures at Uxbridge this season.

However, it will mean a 17-mile (27.3km) journey for home supporters, compared to just over five miles to Kings Langley, for their next game against AFC Wimbledon on 25 January.

"Whilst the facilities are excellent and the provisions for supporters are fantastic, we also want to acknowledge that it does mean moving the team further away from Watford once again," said head of women's football Helen Ward.

"Our supporters are fiercely loyal and we'd never want to take advantage of that, but we hope you all understand that the move will hopefully serve the team well and help us achieve our goal of promotion into the Women's Super League."

Watford are second in the Women's National League Southern Premier, one point behind AFC Bournemouth with a game in hand, with only the champions going up to the second tier of the women's game for 2026-27.

They were relegated from WSL2, then called the Women's Championship, in 2024.
