Crawley Town have signed full-back Jonny Russell from Glentoran for an undisclosed fee and Newport County defender Akin Odimayo.

Russell leaves the Northern Ireland Premiership side after making 80 appearances following his debut during the 2022-23 season.

He scored twice in 14 games in the current campaign, helping Glentoran to third place in the table behind Larne and Coleraine.

Odimayo links up again with boss Scott Lindsey, having previously played under him at Swindon Town, following the expiry of his short-term deal with Newport.

He has agreed an 18-month contract at Broadfield Stadium.

Crawley have now made five early signings in the January transfer window, the pair's arrivals following Theo Vassell, Taylor Richards and Tobi Adeyemo.

Crawley are 21st in League Two ahead of Sunday's away game against Cheltenham Town.
