Jon Grey has stepped down as Wales women's assistant coach to take charge of the men's under-18 side, a role he will combine with a new job at Swansea City.

Grey has been appointed as the Swans' loans and player pathway manager.

Having played youth football for the club in the 1990s, Grey returned as a coach in 2009 and worked with Swansea's academy in various roles before joining the Wales women's set-up in 2023.

Working under head coach Rhian Wilkinson, he helped Wales qualify for their first major tournament at last summer's Euro 2025.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to re-establish my relationship with Swansea City, a club which has always been, and will always be, close to my heart," said Grey.

"I also want to thank all parties for working together to come to an agreement.

"It allows me to work for my club and my country, and I am excited about the future."

Wales boss Wilkinson said: "Jon Grey has been an integral part of the women's programme over the past few years, and I would like to formally recognise and thank him for his dedication and contribution.

"It is no surprise that his time with the programme has coincided with a period of unprecedented success for the team, this speaks to the calibre of coach and professional that Jon is.

"Diolch, Jon, for everything you've done for the programme, and for the support you've provided to me personally. It has been a pleasure working with you over the past few years."
