Bristol City are close to announcing a new signing says head coach Gerhard Struber.
The Austrian has been open about the need to add to the club's attacking line-up and said the new player could even be available for Saturday's FA Cup third-round tie with Watford.
"[It is] a really good situation, I'm happy, maybe we can jump out with news tomorrow," Struber told BBC Radio Bristol.
"We were really busy the last few weeks and it's not always easy to bring players in, especially in the winter transfer window, but right now we are really really close and maybe tomorrow or this week we are one step further in our transfer process."
City signed striker Emil Riis last summer and while he has seven goals this season, their top scorers are midfielders Anis Mehmeti (nine) and Scott Twine (eight).
Sinclair Armstrong has shown significant development this season, scoring three times, most recently in the 5-0 win against Portsmouth, but options are limited beyond that.
Centre-forward Fally Mayulu has played in 10 games, but only started one with no goals, while Harry Cornick's only appearance is six minutes from the bench against Hull City in August before being hampered by injuries again.
Struber did not confirm whether the new signing would be permanent or a loan deal.

He also said he had "put everything on the table" to get Anis Mehmeti and Zak Vyner to stay at the club.
The pair are out of contract this summer and despite having new offers are yet to sign new terms.
While no offers have been received yet for either player, Struber said he "could imagine that one or other requests will come".
"I am really, really happy with both these players. Zak and Anis made the last few months performance-wise a big difference and it was really, really important for us," he said.
"Especially Zak he is the face of the club, he [grew up] here and he is a big time here in this club.
"Zak has a good offer on the table right now and I would say the same with Anis."
