National League strugglers Sutton United have announced the signing of goalkeeper Chris Haigh.
The 28-year-old kept seven clean sheets in 21 starts for Chelmsford City in National League South and also played in City's FA Cup first round win over Braintree and their subsequent second round exit against Weston-super-Mare.
Haigh is reunited with his former Worthing manager Chris Agutter, having left the Rebels to join Chelmsford last summer, and will take on a player-coach role at Gander Green Lane.
The U's lie fourth-bottom, sitting in the relegation zone on goal difference.
Haigh began his career at Watford and had a stint at Gillingham before moving around numerous non-league clubs in the south east, helping Ebbsfleet and Oxford City to promotion to the National League and winning man of the match at Wembley as Concord Rangers were edged out by Harrogate in the FA Trophy final in 2021.
