Swiss striker Michael Frey has joined Grasshoppers for an undisclosed fee after two years with Queens Park Rangers.

The 31-year-old scored 10 goals in 53 appearances for the Rs but has fallen out of favour under Julien Stephan, playing 13 times under the Frenchman.

Frey has not scored this season and has found himself fall down the pecking order after the summer arrivals of Richard Kone and Rumarn Burrell.

"I want to thank Michi for everything he brought to QPR - his tenacity, goals, fighting spirit and professionalism were all standout over his two years with us," CEO Christian Nourry told the club's website., external

"As a man, I have rarely met anyone so utterly obsessed with his craft, in the best way."

Frey began his career at Young Boys and has spent time with Lille, Zurich, Fenerbahce and Royal Antwerp, where he scored 29 goals in 47 league games before joining QPR in January 2024.
