Gillingham's Gale and Holtam sign new contracts

Gillingham defender Sam Gale and goalkeeper Taite Holtam have both signed new contracts with the League Two club.

Gale's new terms will keep him at Priestfield Stadium until 2028, with Holtam's new deal running until 2027, external.

Gale, 21, has made 40 appearances for the club, scoring one goal.

"I am really thankful to the club for the faith that has been shown in me. It is important that I am happy where I am," he told the club's website., external

Holtam, 20, has made three appearances, with his most recent coming in the Vertu Trophy against Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday.

He went on loan to Ashford United but was recalled last week following an injury to first-choice keeper Glenn Morris.

Gills host Crawley Town on Saturday and are seventh in League Two, occupying the final play-off spot.
