Hull City expect to be able to unveil Yu Hirakawa and Toby Collyer as January signings after agreeing deals with Bristol City and Manchester United, respectively.
Manager Sergej Jakirovic revealed both transfers were close to completion with the deal for former Bristol City utility man Hirakawa already pending a medical.
Collyer is also poised to move, from Manchester United, and will have a medical sometime this weekend ahead of joining up with the Tigers officially on Monday.
"With Yu Hirakawa I think we agree everything with Bristol [City] and after a medical check on Sunday he will have a press conference and he will be our player," Jakirovic told BBC Radio Humberside.
"He brings speed, good technique, more options. He can play right, left, winger or wing back – everything.
"There is a chance he could be involved on Tuesday [against Preston at Deepdale] as he is ready and in good shape and he is in full training.
"With Toby Collyer we are waiting but I think we have a green light from Man United and I think he will join us on Monday.
"This is what I know but we have agreed everything with Man United. He will have a medical this weekend. He is now ready for training."
Hirakawa made what appears likely to be the last of 60 league appearances for Bristol City when coming on as a second half substitute in the goalless draw with Oxford United on Saturday.
Collyer has been on loan at Championship side West Brom in the first half of this season making three starts and nine appearances off the bench but had returned to Old Trafford.
