Guernsey FC manager Tony Vance says third place in the Southern Combination Premier Division is his side's realistic aim after their 2-1 win over struggling AFC Varndeanians.
Jamie Dodd put the islanders ahead in the 12th minute when he volleyed in Charlton Gauvain's header as Guernsey led 1-0 at half-time.
Varndeanians equalised six minutes after the break when Julian Durand got on the end of a long ball and beat Josh Addison.
However, 10 minutes later, the in-form Sam Murray scored for the 13th time in seven games to win it for Vance's side.
Murray was quickest to react to a Dodd ball into the box to blast home his 53rd goal for Guernsey FC, moving him into fifth place in the club's all-time goalscoring standings.
The win moved the Green Lions up to third in the table as a number of their rivals had games called off.
They are 19 points behind runaway leaders Haywards Heath Town and 14 behind second-placed Steyning Town, although they do have games in hand.
"We're definitely not going to catch Haywards Heath, they're miles ahead of us," Vance explained to BBC Radio Guernsey.
"Their resources mean that whilst I would fancy ourselves against them toe-to-toe in one-off games over the course of the season, we've never got our strong group available every game like Haywards Heath would.
"In addition to that they can strengthen when they like, there's always one or two teams like that in this league and they're the team for this season.
"Steyning have stolen the march on everyone, even though we beat them away which was an excellent result, but again they're probably ahead of us as well.
"So you're probably looking at third place, which is the one that's sort of within touching distance of us."
