Lys Mousset's equaliser looked to have earned a point before David McGoldrick stole all three

Sheffield United scored two late goals in three minutes from substitutes Lys Mousset and David McGoldrick as they come from behind to beat Championship high-fliers Stoke City.

Jacob Brown put the Potters ahead on 55 minutes when he turned on the edge of the box to fire home a right-foot shot into the bottom left corner - only to be booked for an 'excessive celebration'.

But McGoldrick set up Mousset's 80th-minute equaliser before hitting the winner when Enda Stevens played him in and his calm shot found the bottom right corner.

The Blades climb to 12th, six points below Michael O'Neill's Stoke, who slip to fifth after suffering only their third loss of the season.

Billy Sharp was close to breaking the deadlock before the break when he latched onto an aerial ball played over the top by Ben Osborn, but Stoke keeper Adam Davies dived to save his headed effort.

The first chance of the second half also fell to the Blades when Stevens drove just past the right post.

But Stoke then went in front when a corner whipped in by substitute Sam Clucas found Romaine Sawyers unmarked near the front post, and his header went over.

It was the Blades who finished strongly when McGoldrick, who had only been on the pitch for three minutes, squared for fellow sub Mousset to slot past Davies.

McGoldrick then completed the turnaround to extend the Blades' recent unbeaten home record to six games since the derby defeat by Huddersfield Town in August.

Slavisa Jokanovic's Blades are at home again on Tuesday night when they host Millwall, while the Potters are back in action the same night at home to Championship leaders Bournemouth.

Sheffield United boss Slavisa Jokanovic:

"For us this is a massive win. With energy and trust we can play well. For 85% of the game we played really well, moved the ball well and tried to find spaces.

"We don't trust ourselves enough at times. I hope this will give them confidence because these are a good team in the Championship.

"David McGoldrick is intelligent. He was one of the most important players for us last season. He's a guy that can change a game."

Stoke City boss Michael O'Neill:

"It's a tough one to take. They were good opposition and made it difficult for us. But we have to accept it and move on.

"At half-time we asked for a reaction and got that. I felt we had control of the game, our play was a lot better, we scored a good goal and looked like we were going to score another.

"The lesson for us is that if we don't score that second goal, then the opposition are still in it and the game then turned on its head with the substitutions."
