Highlights: Shrewsbury Town 1-0 Bristol City
League One Shrewsbury set up an FA Cup fourth-round home tie with Liverpool by upsetting Bristol City.
Defender Aaron Pierre scored the winner in the third-round replay, drilling into the bottom corner from 25 yards in the 89th minute.
The Championship side had hit the post in the first half through Nathan Baker's header.
Shrewsbury's players were engulfed by fans at full-time after securing their tie with the Premier League leaders.
Shrews manager Sam Ricketts said he believes his side can beat Liverpool, even though the European and world champions are unbeaten in the top flight for 12 months.
"They are brilliant," Ricketts said. "They have a way of winning games and never look like losing.
"We will pick a game plan. They have weakness like any team. We will have to ride our luck and when we get chances have to try and take them.
"It will be a great occasion for the club in general, the players and myself.
"We all grew up dreaming of the FA Cup. It creates special memories like this. It will live long in the memory."
The game was largely even across the 90 minutes, with Bristol City goalkeeper Dan Bentley producing fine saves from Daniel Udoh and Callum Lang in either half.
Famara Diedhiou missed an excellent first-half chance for the visitors, blazing over when through one-on-one.
Shrewsbury goalkeeper Joe Murphy also saved well from Josh Brownhill's long-range shot in the early stages.
The fourth-round tie against Liverpool will take place at 17:00 GMT on Sunday 26 January, and will be live on BBC One.
Bristol City boss Lee Johnson said: "I thought we played some good stuff at times.
"You have to give the opposition credit. Over the two games, they have done well.
"We had some outstanding chances and they had some good ones as well. At any level of football always at mercy of a strike like that."
