Lincoln City 1-0 Blackpool: Tyreece John-Jules' scores first goal for Imps

Tyreece John-Jules' first goal for Lincoln saw the Imps clinch a 1-0 win over Blackpool.

The Arsenal loanee struck in the 63rd minute as Michael Appleton's side, who missed a first-half penalty through Tyler Walker, continued their rise up the League One table.

Blackpool made a bright start and the visitors went agonisingly close to taking the lead after nine minutes when Nathan Delfouneso's header from a corner struck the inside of the post.

The Imps then grew into the game and a good move saw them win a penalty after 20 minutes. After Jorge Grant found the overlapping Max Melbourne, the full-back was clattered by Jay Spearing.

However, Walker's spot-kick was saved by keeper Mark Howard, who went the right way, diving to his right.

When Lincoln finally broke the deadlock in the second half, it came with a slice of fortune.

A clearance from Ben Heneghan struck team-mate Spearing and fell to Walker. He fed John-Jules, who produced a classy finish beyond Howard.

The Seasiders almost equalised a couple of minutes later when Tayo Edun, who was making his first start for City since arriving from Fulham earlier this month, made two goal-line clearances following a header from Curtis Tilt.
