Fraizer Campbell's second goal of the season put Huddersfield ahead
Marc Roberts' header cancelled out Fraizer Campbell's opener as Birmingham City earned a point at Huddersfield.
Campbell scored his second goal of the season in the 55th minute after latching on to a through ball from Trevoh Chalobah.
Blues equalised with 12 minutes left when Roberts met a flick-on from a corner to head past Kamil Grabara.
The Terriers' goalkeeper then made a smart stop to deny substitute Alvaro Gimenez a late winner.
Huddersfield began on the front foot with Elias Kachunga going close, before Jonathan Hogg and Jake Clarke-Salter were booked.
Blues caretaker head coach Pep Clotet dropped regular number one Lee Camp in favour of Connal Trueman for his first game in 15 months, and he was forced into a good save after 36 minutes.
The young goalkeeper reacted well to repel Kachunga's close-range header, before Campbell's rebound effort was blocked by a defender.
But Trueman could do nothing about the opening goal when Chalobah's ball found Campbell in space and the striker finished smartly.
Birmingham reacted well to going behind and had their reward 12 minutes from time when Roberts' header took a deflection and flew past Grabara.
The draw left Huddersfield three points above the relegation zone, with Birmingham 14th in the table.
Huddersfield manager Danny Cowley:
"In 13 or so years in football management, after about 800-odd games, that's probably the toughest team that I've had to select.
"To lose three of your back four in what is already an unbalanced squad has made it very, very difficult. But I have to credit the players, particularly the ones playing out of position.
"For their goal we didn't react quickly enough and that was the only real clear-cut chance they had - and that's the disappointing thing."
Birmingham caretaker boss Pep Clotet:
"Huddersfield are a very strong team at home and they use a certain style of pressing but we managed to establish possession and I think the result is a fair one.
"We believed in our football, went pressing and got out to the wide areas where we knew we could hurt Huddersfield.
"We always stuck to our plan and it's a good point for us."
