Reading and Birmingham City played out a final-day goalless draw to wrap up their season at the Madejski Stadium.
With both sides' Championship safety already assured, it was little surprise that the two sides managed just seven shots on target between them.
Reading kept up their safety-sealing home form in Berkshire, where they have lost just once since New Year's Day.
Garry Monk's Blues meanwhile extended their unbeaten end-of-season run to seven games - a run now bettered only by leaders Norwich City, who ended Aston Villa's 12-match unbeaten run.
Despite being docked nine points for breaching English Football League profitability and sustainability rules on 22 March, Birmingham have secured their Championship status for a ninth-straight season.
They ended with a 12th clean sheet of the campaign when Blues keeper Lee Camp kept out the game's best chance to deny Danny Loader before the break.
Veteran Reading defender John O'Shea was given a guard of honour by both sides when he returned from injury to make an injury time appearance - his final professional game.
The ex-Manchester United & Republic of Ireland international announced his retirement on his 38th birthday in midweek.
Reading manager Jose Gomes:
"The guard of honour for John O'Shea was the players' idea. All of them respect John a lot. I've never seen anything like that before.
"For me, it meant a lot. The respect that was shown to John. He is a very intelligent person. He's quiet, he doesn't speak too much. But when he talks, everybody listens.
"For the way that we controlled the game and the situations we created, we deserved a bit more than just one point."
Birmingham City manager Garry Monk told BBC WM:
"In the second half we just edged it but both sides had their chances.
"It's a good ending in terms of being unbeaten for the last seven matches and gives us something to take forward to next season.
"We've only got a small and battered squad but they have showed they're ready to fight."
